APA education and research workgroup
The Finnish Society of Sport Sciences promotes adapted physical activity by coordinating research and education in the field nationwide. FSSS has been coordinating adapted physical activity education and research workgroup since 2016. The workgroup works in collaboration with the state sport council’s equity and equality department. The workgroup gathers together around four times a year.
The tasks of APA education and research workgroups are
- Promoting research in the field, collecting and communicating information
- Maintaining research network for APA
- Increasing collaboration between institutions teaching APA
- Planning the program for the national and international seminars of Adapted Physical Activity
- Following up on execution of recommendations for developmed of APA in Finland created in the Adapted Physical Activity Conference 2018
